FSUE “Arktikmorneftegazrazvedka” produces and prepares hydrocarbon raw materials on Peschanoozerskoye field Central block at the island of Kolguev, the Barents Sea.
The oil production area was put into operation as an experimental-industrial one, in spring 1987.
Peschanoozerskoye oil and gas condensate field is one of the most northern in the world, acting oil fields. Hydrocarbon raw materials are produced at the seventieth degree of the north latitude – in the area of continuous permafrost. For more than 20 years of field operation, a unique experience of oil and gas production under the conditions of the far north has been acquired by AMNGR’s experts.
For today, 14 clusters of wells have been developed and put into operation. The infrastructure has been created not only for hydrocarbon raw materials production, but also for them to be treated up to their commercial quality.
Kolguev commercial oil is unique in its physical and chemical properties; it does not contain hydrogen sulfide and is a valuable raw material for obtaining jet fuel TC-1, petrol distillate, clarified kerosene of КО-25 grade, low-sulfur winter diesel fuel as well as low-sulfur summer fuel etc.
Due to its unique properties as well as a high quality of preparation, all the oil being produced is exported.
The oil production area consists of the shore crude storage designed for a long-term storage of commercial oil.
Oil is shipped on the tankers in berth free roadstead of the island of Kolguev, which is in itself, a unique event. The ice conditions of Kolguev water area allow to fill the tankers with displacement of 35-40 thousand tons, maximum draft 10,5 m in the navigational period within June – November months.
