Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Arktikmorneftegazrazvedka”s School of Vocational and Technical Training was established in 1980.
The School of Vocational and Technical Training, according to the state curricula and syllabi, trains specialists engaged in offshore fields exploration and development. The right of the School of Vocational and Technical Training for carrying out educational activity is supported by relevant licences, according to them, the training is conducted by 10 purpose-oriented courses and 65 professions.
From 1980 up to now, over 26 thousand people were trained at the School of Vocational and Technical Training, from them: 13,5 thousand people acquired new specialities, 6 thousand people acquired the second and third specialities and more than 7 thousand people raised their qualifications.
At present the School of Vocational and Technical Training trains professional personnel not only for FSUE “Arktikmorneftegazrazvedka”, but also for JSC “Arktikneft”, Murmansk and Kaliningrad branches of JSC “Gazflot”, JSC AMIGE, JSC SMNG, JSC “Kolenergo”, Central Kola and Murmansk Exploration Companies and other oil and geological enterprises of our region.
Since January, 1984, on its own established base, the School of Vocational and Technical Training has begun training underwater technical operation specialists. In all, from 1984, about 400 men - diving specialists and divers of all classes and groups of specialization, have had training here, they have raised their categories and classes and passed attestation of Diving Qualifying Board
Since 1991 the School of Vocational and Technical Training has put into operation a drilling simulator DS-200 of the American Company Simtran. Training programs on the drilling simulator are similar to those being used in training centers of the USA, Norway, the UK.
In 1995 on the basis of the drilling simulator DS-200 the international certificate of International Well Control Forum (IWCF, Scotland) was obtained for the training of the blowout control.
In 1996 by the joint order of Rector of Murmansk State Technical University and Director General of FSUE “Arktikmorneftegazrazvedka” on the base of the School of Vocational and Technical Training a branch of the faculty “Offshore Oil and Gas Engineering” was established and the Bachelors training in course 553600 “Oil and Gas Engineering” has been begun. Since 2003, engineering training by speciality 060700.02 “Physical Processes of Oil and Gas Production” has been begun.
From spring 2000 the School of Vocational and Technical Training jointly with Saint-Petersburg Onshore Educational and Training Center “Marine Systems” has been trained the shipboard personnel of AMNGR and other fleets of the Murmansk basin according to the requirements of the International Convention “Safety of life at sea” (SOLAS-74) and “Standards on training, certification and watch keeping (PDMNV-78/95).
In 2008 a new full- scale drilling simulator AMT-231 with more extended training range was put into operation. Since 1991 and up to now, over 750 men have passed the simulator training on the blowout control.
For the training to be on a high methodical and professional level, a hardworking and creative collective has been made up, an up to date educational and material basis is used. The school rooms and labs are equipped with necessary visual aids. There is a technical library, recreation centre with a swimming pool, sauna and gymnasium in the school.
